I am using the 98 car set, at C***te when qaulifying was over, the
pole went to Morgan Shepard at 185.726 mph. the second spot was 179.445.
During the race Shepard was untouchable, why is this?

I don't know. Whats most surprising is that Morgan Shepard ran that good.

check his skills in the "driver info" section.
Maybe you have the drag set low, or the power or aggression set high.
If either of these are the slightest bit overset than the rest of the
carset, then he will run away with it.
I learned that the hard way...
