Get it at...
www.bethsoft.com/burnout   It's a program called ViewCar and allows you to
view the cars driving onto a pedestal where you can watch them do a burnout
(in glorius 3DFX too) and the smoke is THE BEST!!!    I've never seen smoke
in any game done sooooo cool.  Great Job guys!  I'm going to buy this game
tomorrow along with Janes F-15.  I'm going to be a MAJOR hermit for the next
several days/weeks.  There are TONS of cars to drive and you can even smash
them up in this small program with a Sledgehammer type tool to see their
damage.  I couldn't care less about having a dashboard view because I
usually love all the external views.

What I'd like to know is how are the crashes and how is the sense of speed?

I agree the smoke is good looking but it's nothing compared to what
GP-Legends will be :-)   .  I have a bizarre feeling about Burnout.  Good
and bad things.

I wonder why they didn't include ViewCar in the full game for non-3dfx.

Crashes are normal.  Decent.  They do roll (like the funny cars), loose
parts, etc... but it's not the best crash I saw.  I don't feel speed alot,
maybe it's only because I'm only at 184mph ;-)

Btw...  here are the good/cons things about Burnout. IMHO it will not be a
big sale hitter.

Cons:

1) No***pit view
2) Poor framerate IMHO.  (I get about 5fps in low resolution mode when I
smoke the tires with my PII 266 <g>). And it's not my PC.  I don't have VESA
(doesn't work with the STb Velocity 128).
3) Poor setup menus.
4) Not stable (I crash it in win95 like each 1hour)

Poor:

1) Good game engine
2) Many setups
3) Good choice of cars

This will not beat Nascar2.  IMHO.  It fails in too many places for it.
Lets hope NHRA is better

Better Crashes than N2 I would say and I love the fact that when a Funny Car
blows up it sends the Body into pieces.Try turning on Motion Blur on you
might get a better sense of speed.

I won't go into this again what ya'll would rather have a***poor version
of a***pit view like in N1 and N2.Can't even see your own hood.

Do't know why you get poor framerate I get 30 plus and I'm running it on a P
166mmx  with a Trdent 2 meg Video card with a Orchaid Righteous 4 meg 3Dfx
card and I only have 32 meg of edo ram.Might be that STB card I have heard
nothing but bad things on those cards.

What is so poor about the Setup Menus? Please explain this this is very
puzzling.

Stable? I have never had it crash on me in W95 and I'm still using the beta
versions:)
I have sat here and tested this game for 4 straight hours with no problems.

Let's don't forget Nascar2's nickname here "Patch Car2" how long did we have
to wait on the simpilest patches then for NROS and we know how great that is
if you like warpy racing (when you don't get booted).
