Anybody who might have played both the full game and the demo....

How representative is this (frankly quite crap) demo of the full game?

also has anybody managed to actually do a burnout with it? if so tell me
how please...

ok, no i have never been able to do a burnout. I have been able to raise the
front  of one of cars up into the air.

It's ***inless you have 3Dfx.

I've only gotten the Armorall funny car to do consistant burnouts. I
use the "up" arrow for forward. Even though "reverse" is the keytop R,
I push the "down" arrow and "up" arrow at same time when I'm starting
to race. The result is a burnout and lots-o-smoke.

I got to fiddle with Burnout briefly on a PII 400MHz machine last
night (drool, I want one).  If I recall correctly, holding down the
space bar activates the line lock (front wheel brakes), for burnout
purposes.

Brian, I have discovered that you only should do very light burnouts ie.
as soon as smoke appears you stop. Its fun putting on a smoke show but it
doesn't work in the game and is very expensive in real life. But which ever
method you use, doing it the same way every time is the only way to get
consistent.

: > the only way i have found to do a good burnout is to have enough weight
: > on the front and tires big enough to hold the linelock

In the demo I have found a very good way to smoke the rear right off the
rim.

1) Put on the line lock.
2) Pump the gas so that the revs stay at about 2-3000 rpm.
3) Watch the smoke POUR off of the tires and fill the screen

I suppose with a wheel and peddles you can maintain an rpm better, but the
demo is keyboard only, so you'll have to just keep tapping the key.

HOWEVER, in the demo just TOUCHING the gas will slow your run down.

Do this test:

1) Smoke the ***out of the tires and do a run.  Note the time.
2) Next run do NOT even TOUCH the gas.  Coast up to the line and stage
3) Make your run and note the time.  I find it to be much improved in
the demo (8.8s verses 10.2s) even with the same reaction times.
