gp2 and track98 update problem

by dean » Fri, 21 Aug 1998 04:00:00

Hi I have updated gp2 with trackpak98(by Matti Laitinen), the problem is
that although the tracks are updated in terms of what they look like when I
am driving the number of laps and lap distance are not what they should be
ie they dont match the details in the readme file for trackpak. I tried
using a program called trackman(version 1.5.1) and with this I could
correct all of the above plus correct the season schedule and names but
this program also has a tyre wear variable that has to be filled in for
each track, and I can only assume that the current values are wrong since
all the other variables were wrong, now if only I knew what these tyre wear
values were meant to be. I f anybody can help I would much apprciate it as
I have spent many hours trying to sort this out without luck and if I dont
get it sorted soon I will miss the first race of the season on a gp2 league
I have joined.

1. Stay clear of GP2.COM,
2. Don't bother with tyres....... its just for realism to a real gp2 head
like me but its not important.
3.put the new tracks in the newc folder in trackman folder,
4. start trackman
5.click 9
6. click 1.
7. click the a number, 1 for the first track ,2 for the second..........and
press enter.
8. pick another number to replace the original,
9. type the names of the track(propmps will help  you) and your set..
10. If you still have trouble email  me.

People using editors, and changing performance variables in GP2, and
racing in leagues doesn't appear to go together IMHO?

Maybe thats where all these *incredible* lap times come from?

Change the graphics, change the team and driver names, but leave the
cars performance alone....

As I said, just IMHO?

surely if each competitor saved his fastest lap of the race then the
league director could run HOF2LAP over it to check BHP, grip etc..

Doesn't stop cheats using slow-mo though. Although for a whole race?!

btw where are these *incredible times*

He means a 1 minute 10 at Brazil, you must have a wheel, be fantastic and
use the physics editor....
