MOTOCROSS MADNESS 2 is awesome !!!

If you like racing games of various kinds beyond just cars, then you must try
this game. It's inexpensive at $35, and it gives you a great mixture of realism
mixed with a bit of arcadishness, in a near perfect blend. The game has at
least 40 different tracks, and a track editor is due for internet release
shortly, so there will be lots of new tracks being created by the inventive
minds out there in ***land. I played it for about 8 hours yesterday and
tonight , and I find it to be a definite improvement over the original version,
which was one of the best racing games ever made. The graphics are among the
very finest I have ever seen in a racing game, and the physics model is top
notch while being somewhat forgiving. Get this game, and I think that most of
you will like it.

I'll second that. I actually feel kind of lame for spending almost 7
hours on a Friday night playing online.
The National and Supercross tracks are now MUCH closer to the real
thing, and you can crash by casing (under-jumping) the doubles and
triples.

Excellent game.

Sure it looks better but at the cost of fogging to hid pop up. I use to love the
ability to see almost to the horizon in MCM1 but MCM2 adds fog and pop up. Ick.

Slide the visibility slider up if you have the machine to handle it.
It'll draw ahead just as far as the first game, but it's drawing a lot
more than the first game.

Are you telling me that the game is finally out in stores already?  Find
that hard to believe but hope it is true.

So what is the best controller for this? definitely not a digital
gamepad...analog gamepad? full sized flight stick? mini joystick like
the old mach 3 (still have mine somewhere).

Thanks,

The Microsoft FreeStyle Pro gamepad was clearly the best product for the
original MM, so I personally feel it would suit MM2 the best ;)    It has
motion sensing where you can tilt the gamepad.  I speculate the controls of
the bike are similar to the original (where you control the balance of the
bike by tilting the gamepad forward or backward).

Microsoft's Freestyle game pad, the one with the gyrometer in it. You tilt
the pad to the left, and the bike turns left, tilt it backwards, and the
biker leans back. Definitely the best controller for MotoMadness...

Or maybe the Logitech Wingman Extreme gamepad, which offers the same sort of
"analog" mode you control by tilting the controller in any direction.
According to, umm, I think it was a review in Computer *** World, it was
about the same as the MS gamepad in analog mode, but had a better feel in
regular D-Pad mode.

Thats what most of the fast guys in MCM use.
I'm pretty good with the keyboard (its not a bad control device for
this game), but you can always tell when a guy who's good with a
Freestyle Pro is running. They fly.

I have the Logitech version sitting here, called the Extreme, but I'm
having trouble getting used to it. I'll have to practice some offline

For some strange reason, MS decided to include a 3 axis controller in
the setup, but you cannot use the throttle/brake together in one (Z)
axis.  It's disappointing to me, since I use a modified USB thing that
plugs into a Playstation controller.  Gives me 3 axis, analog, with
good control.  Plus, you can also use the digital with all the
buttons.  Fun for games like NFS when you don't feel like dragging out
the wheel.

I used to use full sized flight stick for MCM1.
When jumped and catching the ground, tilting stick was
simulate tilting ones body very well. =)

I once tried Freestyle game pad at a storefront, but It was felt
too loose for me.

Hmm, almost 2 years passed since the preceding one. I cannot
wait to get the successor! Could somebody tell me any
online shops that can deliver MCM2 for oversea?
EB is refusing to sell it except for US customers...  boo... =(
