NHRA Drag Racing

I have a Nascar Pro wheel and found that the joystick is still better. The
buttons on my wheel won't work with assignments ( chutes). Here is a copy of
the text file that came with the patch.

NHRA Drag Racing (Version 1.03)  Feature List - Tantrum Entertainment, Inc.

* The "Q" key will allow you to quit the game from interface screens. This
does not
include an actual race or replays.

* The Replay time has been extended.

* NHRA driver videos play more frequently after wins.

* The keyboard will not lose calibration for steering.

* Ladder (Standings) should clear between events.

* Engine "Run" sound stops after a centerline DQ.

* Pedals are now supported for steering units. While all PC units should
work,
find below the list that has been tested. Refer to your manuel or the
website
for set-up tips.

TM NASCAR PRO
TM NASCAR Sprint
ECCI CDS2R
ECCI CDS4000
ECCI CDS 5000
MS Sidewinder FF Wheel
Act Labs RS Wheel
Act Labs RS Force
TSW Formula 99
TSW II
Logitech Wingman Wheel
Logitec Wingman Formula Force

* The "Championship Points" math error has been corrected.

* Dragsters are now more difficult to tune. The wing does not produce
downforce until reaching a higher MPH. You should have to soften your
clutches to keep from smoking the tires using your old aggressive tunes.

* The Funny Car is more forgiving when tuning. The traction for
"fair" track conditions has been increased slightly. You should
be able to get into the low 5.20s under these conditions in a FC.

* Opponents are slightly stronger in version 1.03. The rail opponents will
break
4.50 occasionally as is predicted for this year's season. The F/Cs will
break
4.80 as well.

* The ".RACE" file format for saved races has changed to ".GAME" You will
not
be able to load old saved games. We are doing this to prevent old runs from
being submitted to the "off-line" league that will fire up once this version
is
released.

* Saving a game without using a filename will create a "NO_NAME" file
versus a blank ".GAME" file.

A special thanks goes out to the beta team for all the hard work!

My system locked up as soon as I touched my brake pedal.  And still no
network support.  Back in the jewel case for this one.

Barry:

Are you saying that you have loaded the patch and you still cant get your
wheels and pedals to work.  I assume you have setup your game controller
as well.  This is Windows now not that DOS/4GW stuff.  hehe.  The
patch worked fine for me so lets deal with it and take care of you..

Don W

The wheel will work with both buttons and pedals and  if they dont
you need to contact tantrum tech support.

Don,

I've downloaded the patch also, and the game is not clearing the race ladder
after a race is completed???

This is ridiculous?   Six months, and they can't fix something as simple as
that.   I'm a programmer, and a fix like that probably would take them no
more than an hour to analyze and code and test and they have had six months.
I was hyped when the game came out, sort of hyped that a patch was coming
out, but I'm not so sure when that CD is going back in the PC.

I have a TM GP1 and I "thought" the patch would allow me to use the paddles
and guess what......I still have to use the wheel buttons for gas & brake.

I can't tell much difference except I can get out of the game (Sim) without
locking up.

So with this new patch, would it be safe to say that it muight be better now to
get the game, or is there still more bugs to be fixed in it?

Save your money!  Unless you don't care about racing others online.  If you
want to play by yourself it's a great game for, let's say, a couple hours at
the most.
This is just my opinion.
