NFS and pedals - possible?

by Daniel Howel » Tue, 19 Nov 1996 04:00:00

Hi guys, just a quick question.

Has anyone managed to make a patch/hack to get CH Pro Pedals
to be useable in Need For Speed? This isn't anything I'm
majorly worried about, but think it would make the game nice
to have a proper brake & accelerator. Anyone any ideas?

Cheers,
Dan

Well, if your pedals are connected to your 2nd Joystick port you will have
no chance cause NFS only supports _one_ joystick. In this case you could try
to build/buy an adaptor which maps one axis of your second joystick (the
x-axis I suppose) to the y-axis of your 1st joystick. If you have solved
this problem (you need to have both accel/brake and steering on _one_
device) it will work. But sometimes you will have to use the Joystick
Calibration Utility (JCU.EXE) if you are using NFS SE (I had to use it for
the T2). With NFS (original Version) it will work without JCU.EXE.

Hope that helps

Cheers, Michael
