Question on NASCAR setups

by Derek Coo » Sat, 08 Feb 1997 04:00:00

Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to answer the following
question.  I am playing NASCAR on the Playstation and I am
looking for setups.  I have found many web sites with setup
information for various tracks for the NASCAR/NASCAR 2 games.
My question is do these setups work in the PSX version?  Does
the PSX version use the same physics model and options as the
PC versions?  The game is great but it can be very frustrating
without a good starting point for the car setups and I don't
want to enhance that frustration by using settings that are
just going to make things worse!

Also, could someone provide the locations of some of the better
NASCAR/NASCAR 2 sites.  There are so many but I am looking for
one with reliable information on the game.  Most of the time
there is no detailed explanation of what each option does in
the game.  I would like to learn this so as to be able to
tweak the posted setups to fit my driving style better.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The PSX version works almost identically to the N1 version, so setups
for N1 should work pretty darn well on the PSX version. (There were
some minor physics tweaks I put into the PSX version, which shouldn't
have changed the game much from N1; hopefully just removed a touch of
the frustration factor...)

Also, note that the above refers to simulation mode, not to the
"arcade" mode setups...

If you don't mind me plugging my own site, try:

I've tried to explain everything about setting up a car in detail,
including giving you an overview of the steps I take when I'm working on a
setup.
