You're talking eye-candy more than realism... I've raced Daytona USA and that
is NOT a realistic simulator.  It's smoother than NASCAR Racing, but that's
where the advantages end, IMHO.

says...

I agree with you on the impacts, but as for rolling, have you noticed
that they generally don't do that anymore?  The roof flaps that were
added last year are to prevent the cars from leaving the ground.  Since
they can't leave the ground, it is very difficult to make them roll.

Well, I was wondering - you know how in real Nascar racing the pit is
constantly talking to the driver? well Wouldnt this be great if it happened in
NASCAR RAcing too! Like in DAYTONA USA (the arcade one)! that would be cool -
olso not enough damage can be done to a car - They dont roll, they dont get
squashed and the roof doesnt get Belted down (like it would if you rolled)
I once lost control after hitting another car and went right through the pit
only to T-bone another car against the wall. All that happened is his bonnet
came off and the rear end was wasted off - WHY wasnt the door whacked in? or
the entire car bent? and if i hit a wall at 200 miles then i think id be way
past repair - why doesnt the WHOLE engine fly out or get squashed in?
I know this is a lot but this is realistic - LIKE Daytona USA.

both daytona and nascar have their strong and weak points.  i think though
that daytona might get the damage to be semi-realistic, but on the other
hand the physics of how the car moves in daytona just does not compare to
nascar.  also in nascar, you get the option of tuning the car, and making
all sorts of adjustments, where as in daytona you don't.

it would be easy to say that daytona and nascar are completely different
games (although they are both driving games) they are on different levels.
