Okay, I love N2.  However, I have a couple of questions.  Someone feel
free to clue me in and correct me where I am mistaken.

As I remember, one of the screen shots for N2 had a sun blinding the
drivers eyes...so where is it in the game? (or is it?)  I also heard
that you would be able to exit the pits if you had wrecked and were
able to drive without going a lap down.  Then you could come back in
for the rest of the repairs.  Was that not true?

I have a Pentium 200 with 56 Megs of EDO RAM, Intergraph Reactor 3D
(Rendition ready) video card.  I tried to turn all graphics on and got
maybe 10 frames per second.  Any suggestions on how to tweek the
system?  Seems strange that it would run this slow to me.

Oh well, such is life.  I hope someone can help with the minor
problems.

Thanks everyone.

Are you running the renddma.exe version of Nascar2?  If you are and are
getting these framerates, something is seriously wrong with your
system.  What kind of DMA performance numbers are you getting with
DMAtest?  If you don't have it, get it from my utilities page.

10fps - yuck!!!  First of all - turn off the grass and pavement texture.
You will never get decent frame rates with pavement texture on - unless you
have P600 (didn't I read that someone was beta testing that - right?).  I
also ditch the crowds - since I find this maze of color distracting and
frame rate disrupting (although not always and usually just a little).
This should get you to 30fps on your hardware for sure.  If not, check out
things like your game port (is it on the sound board - some of these are
aweful) and sound board.  You can also check out your cmos configuration -
are your drams set to 60ns, I/O recovery set to a low number of clocks etc.

No glare in the product.  I think the repair thing is in there - although I
have not tried it yet.  Heck - I never wreck ????

Good luck.  /THansen

The abort of repair in the pits is there. I dont remember but I
believe while the repairs are going on you hit the F9 key and it will
change "repair damage" to " Dont repair damage" You have tio wait a
few seconds then the spotter yells out GO. Hope this helps.
