Just ask for some opinons,
ICRII and GPII, which is nearer to the real things?

ICR2 does a very good job modelling CART racing in 1995.
GP2 does a very good job modelling Formula 1 racing in 1994.
ICR2 is actually the older of the 2 sims and does show it in some areas.
However, new life was breathed into ICR2 with the Rendition version
which is available as part of the Intergraph's or Sierra's 3d video
cards.
ICR2 is rather poor in its modelling of F1.
GP2 is rather poor in its modelling of CART.
ICR2 is a "dead" product. There appears to be no plans for future
support from Papyrus/Sierra On-Line for this sim.
GP2 is a "dead" product. There NEVER was any support from Microprose
for this sim.
Both GP2 & ICR2 are the best products out there for being close to the
real thing. Take your pick. If you are a real race fan, pick both. If
you have to pick and your computer lacks the horsepower you might want
to opt for ICR2 as GP2 is very CPU intensive.

Very good explanation of both sims without a note of bias, way to go!
Let's hope this will stave off the usual GP2 -vs- ICR2 flamefest.
Any self respecting open-wheel auto sim enthusiast will own both especially
since I think both can now be found in the bargain bins.
Cheers.

Not quite. The GP2 upgrade (known as "GP3") should be available
sometime next year (BTW, that's in "Crammond/MPS years", YMMV). ;)
Papyrus will not offer that option. :(
Before you send me UCE, I know what you're thinking... Did he complain
to five or six postmasters last month? Now, you must ask yourself one
question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do you, punk?
