Modem play for Nascar 2

by The Hamste » Sun, 04 Jan 1998 04:00:00

I would like to know if there is any way to get around having the CD in when
I want to modem play against my friends. I have started a lot of games just
to find out I have to restart because I don't have the CD in.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance
Ed

Do a full install. You will not need the N2 cd after that.

You need the fakecd utility. (I have no idea where it is myself. :( )

Use it to fake your Nascar2 directory (full install I presume) as the
drive that is usually your CD. Won't work in Win95 BTW.

Then you need to re-label your hard-disk to that of the N2 CD label. I
would guess that is "NASCAR2"? Can't remember off-hand...
Doing that is easy enough under My Computer or in Dos using LABEL.

Pretty tough, I have only forgotten to slip the CD in once, and the
above is really a hassle if you have the CD.

Thanks,

Jon Guest :-)
