Oh yes.

But the question is, can Crammond include multiplayer?

At Boomtown the article says mentions multiplayer/internet play...
I hope Geoff will hire someone else to do that part though ;)

i'm not familiar with this series.  is it along the lines of "stuntman" for
the ps2?  sounds intriguing nonetheless.

Cool... a *** generation gap. ;-)

I don't know what stuntman for the PS2 is like, but try to imagine driving a
paved rollercoaster from a first person perspective in a cross between a
front engined sprint car and one of those stadium cross buggies against
another player. That's the best I can do to describe stunt car racer.

And a very fine job you did Jan, quite exemplary as it were and an
example for others to follow.....

Right, I've had an overdose of "Jeeves and Wooster" again, that's what
happens when you buy the complete series on DVD, but it's jolly good fun
nonetheless

hey, i played multiplayer in the first stunt car racer by linking my and
my friends amigas with a null-modem cable :)

first time i experienced multiplayer of any sort, years before i heard
of this thing called internet.

I hear Crammond is going to be using a slightly modified version of the
original Amiga Stunt Car Racer engine....

I've still got a copy for the Atari ST sitting in the drawer.  Can remember
many a late night(early morning?) playing that one.

It still is :) Together with Kick Off 2 the only games I still play on
my amiga emulator :)

yes.  via a serial cable, as in the original.

just a joke, but lets make the post worthwhile.

if you want to get a good idea of what its like to race.

get the stunttrack and rollercoaster tracks for gpl from the gpl
tracks database.  set your car engine to FG or FD (I prefer FG at
first, swapping to FG later).

set the car up with *LOTS* of suspension travel and rigidity (anyone
with better advice, let *me* know as well!).

race and have fun.  excellent in multiplayer.

also,  the best versions are amiga and atari st.  they are for all
intents and purposes the same, although the ST version ran a smidgen
faster.  its best to play on the pc using an atari ST emulator as they
are not as sophisticated as the amiga ones.  you can run stuntcar
racer in a window or fullscreen on your desktop.  pretty cool.

best part of scr in my opinion was trying to balance driving fast and
avoiding suspension damage from the bumps and jumps.  great fun.

great game.  almost as good as The Sentinel....

Regards all,
istoff

I played the PC version of SCR not half a year ago. ;)
The concept is great, and it was great back then.

Hope it takes off.

Even more funny, really, because the Amiga with 2 megs chip and 2 megs fast
ram, did what these POS dos based machines still wish they could do with 20
gig drives and nearly that in memory  :P.

Memories, eh?
Stunt Car Racer and The Sentinel caused my more lost sleep than any other
games I know!  Strange, The Sentinel Returns from a few years ago didn't
quite hack it though - don't know why.
