Well I did it, and I didn't think I was going to. I should have asked here
first before buying this TOTALLY lame excuse for a sim.  I installed it
played it for 5 minutes and UN installed it.  What a joke!!    This has to
be THE worst driving SIM I've ever seen.  It's more like an arcade game
than a sim.  Oh well, I'll ask here next time I get a wild hair.  LOL

That was my impression too. However, after checking the incar
shots from Suzuka yesterday, I am not so sure. The incar cameras
had the same shots as the game. I thought the game framerate was
*WAY* too high. It actually looked like the incar camera. However,
the game has serious problems. Namely that there really is no
damage. *YOUR* car sounds like blipping from the old pong games
or some other bad FM sound. It certainly did not sound like Schumachers
car did in the Japan race :-) The biggest boo-boo was the fact that
none of the ingame settings are saved. Graphics, joystick control
all have to be re-initialized every time your run the game. I called
Psygnosis and they had no answer...

F197 ot F1? I don' have F197 yet, but re: F1, the sounds may not be
what you want (the F1 bee-hive isn't to my personal taste), but I
undertand that they are actually the most accurate of any of the
present sims- achieved by loading a Jordon F1 car with DATs and
sending it around.

That said, I like GP2's sound better. But that is probably because
instead of being accurate, they seemed to have gone for something that
sounds "good."

I only have the Playstation version. It doesn't have that problem,
strangely enough.

F1 is the PC version in North America. F197 is the European version.
Check their web site to see what I mean. I think F197 for the playstation
may be the same as the NorthAmerican F1 for the PC.

Sure the *OTHER* cars sound great. The PLAYERs car engine sound
*SUCKS*. Period.
