GP2 - Looking for good joystick control set + setups

Hi folks!

I was wondering if anyone out there has a good GP2 control settings file
for joysticks (with steering help off), that gives a similar sort of
feel to using a joystick with Indycar 2.  I realise that an Indycar is
heavier and less grippy, and that contributes a lot to the different
handling (as well as the game engine presumably), but I wondered if
anyone's managed to get a joystick setting configured to give that same
sort of feel.  So far I've had problems finding a compromise between
good responsiveness and having the handling too sensitive (and difficult
to control).  If anyone has a control settings file that they could
recommend I'd be very grateful.  At the moment I'm still opting for
keys, because they give more control, but with steering help the car
feels like it's on rails, and that's faster for me at the moment, but
not half as much fun as without steering help (which feels almost
impossible with keys).

One other thing I was looking for was some solid car setups for each
circuit.  I know there are lots about, but again, I wondered if anyone
could recommend some that are not necessarily world records, but feel
balanced (not too oversteery), and are still pretty quick.  I know
setups are personal things that relate to individual driving style, but
like I say I'm looking for good balance rather than a really lively rear
end (I suppose a sort of Alain Prost/Damon Hill setup, rather than a
Michael Schumacher/Jean Alesi style. :-)

On the subject of setups, do people find that setups generally work as
well with different control methods (i.e. keys/joystick/wheel), or tend
to be fast with only a specific method, e.g. a setup refined using a
joystick doesn't work well with keys?

Cheers!

.
.....

You CAN NOT turn off steering help in the game when using keys. There is a
third-party utility to do this though (car completely undrivable...)You are
probably referring to Traction Help (F7 key).

If so: it is certainly possible, faster and more fun to turn off F7. Mind you:
NOT easy to master!!!

But you might want to check it out for some time. If you want some help, read my
"Keyboard Hotlap Guide" and visit the HOF2.5 Keyboard Hotlap Competition at

http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/9326

There are definitely big differences between the fastest keyboard and wheel
setups. Since you MUST use steering help with the keyb, the whole setup is
focused on sort of "getting around this". This means very much inballance
between the front and the rear: high wing at the front, very little wing (on
most circuits) at the back. Check out some of the setups used in HOF2.5...
