Larry, to the best of my knowledge, and I readily admit that I don't
know all that much about how Windows works "behind the scenes", setting
a limit on your vcache doesn't limit the amount of RAM used by Windows,
it only limits the amount os RAM Windows uses to cache programs etc,
active programs are still free to use whatever RAM you have installed in
your PC......

Beers and cheers

Major Problems with N4 after adding RAM

If you are using Win 98 or Me, you need to set your system RAM to 512 before
running N4. I had the same problem with GPL. Here is a link to a MS article
which tells you how to set the RAM size:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q253/9/12.ASP?LN=EN-...
n&FR=0&qry=Q253912&rnk=1&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=CHS

Good luck,
Chris

I missed the previous posts, but when you have over 512mb in Win98
then you have to limit the amount of Vcache to 512mb or less or else
Win9x will use it all for Vcache. Go to system.ini and under the
Vcahce heading add MaxFileCache=xxxx (x being how much ram you want to
allow for Vcache in kilobytes 1024kb=1mb). Is that the fix you were
looking for?
