Why, the TNT2 cards are faster than the V2SLI for GPL. TNT2 Ultras are
better still. And yes, I have a TNT2 Ultra AND a V2SLI combo.
You will be a very happy camper....

The only thing I needed to do, was set the limit to 2 meg textures.
Works great.
Works great on all the other games I've got also.

Are you getting consistent 36 fps on your TNT2 Ultra, even in
traffic? What resolution? What mirror refresh setting? What
CPU?

Yes, and at what resolution? 640x480. :)
Yes, 1024x768 and 15 cars is all I was using before and haven't changed it.
Mirror refresh set to 1. P2400 for the cpu.
IMHO, those are precisely the instances (in an online race) when you
simply cannot function sufficiently unless your system is capable of 36
fps. I'm running a P2/450 (overclocked to 504) with 256mb of ram and a
voodoo2/12 card, and I can't get 36 fps all the time (including the two
instances I cited above) unless I run my detail bias at 90% and turn off
some of the object detail.
IMHO, connection quality and frame rate are much more important than
realism and eye-candy.

In the end, the original poster bought a V3/3K.

Papy could solve the whole problem by releasing the GPL patch and a N3
demo... :-)
