I ordered Gp2 when Gp Manager came out. After calling last week about my
order Micro/Spectrum Holobyte told me it will ship on the 25th.

The confirmed sale date is tomorrow -- July 23rd. However, some
people are now saying that the game won't be available until Thursday
or Friday, the 25th or 26th. I would suggest that you continue to nag
your chosen retail outlet, which is what I'm doing. :)

The message came from Spectrum-Holobyte/Microprose. I guess that's
pretty good confirmation.

That goes to show you how good SP/MicroLate is on confirmations. Not
here. Not suppposed to be here until the 29th. What happens on the 29th?
Then it will probably be August.

All three Electronics Boutiques in the Jacksonville, FL area have GP2 on sale
today (July 24). $52.99. My copy is on reserve and I'll pick it up tonight.

Babbages in the Dallas Texas area are receiving them in thier UPS shipments
today. If they get a shipment today, it should be in there, some stores get
thier next shipment on Thursday, you just have to call each one. I found
mine, but untill it's in my hands I'm not letting out the location :) !!

It came into a store near my house last night (Media, PA). My wife picked
it up for me and surprised me with it when I got home from work (around
9:00)! What a great deal. I called Chips and Bits and cancelled my
preorder right away.

Back to the curb-launching....

Man, CompUSA blew it. Their 1-800 number was useless, and the local
number told me they had no idea when it would be in, probably next
week sometime, on a trial basis. I asked, out of perverse curiosity,
whether they thought it would be better to just buy it from MP- *they
said "yes, probably would be.* Circuit City said they weren't going to
carry it... I don't understand why (and I don't believe it- i think I
just talked to a disinformed salesman).

Ended up that I just went to Walden Software, pulled it off the shelf
and paid $52. Great moment, seeing it there... the two that were left
will surely be gone tomorrow. I got there within an hour of being put
out, apparently.
