very nice thought, but:
if you get hurt on you left side first and then on your right side, do
you feel ok again then? G-Stress is cumulative.

Nah, I knew Simon was joking and Simon knew I was joking, it's just Jens
who's a bit quick to jump to conclusions (and on the track). <vwg>

Yeah I know you're joking... but they still run figure 8 races with
stockcars.  You can catch it on Motor Madness on TNN sometimes.  The figure
8 is on the inside of a 1/2 mile track, so the cars don't get going that
fast, and the leader usually waits for the rest of the pack to pull through
before crossing the 8.  It still looks pretty ridiculous.

Why put in a tunnel? you could just make it a figure-8 and call it the
XRL series... kinda like football :)

A figure 8 race would be awesome to watch, but I doubt you'd ever
get a sane person to do it, much less someone to underwrite the event!

An interesting idea that will probably only be seen in computer games.
(ala Jeff Gordon's racing game of a few years back)

Some of those games can be fun

That Jeff Gordon game was actually fun, even if it only took about 1 hour to
get through the whole thing

Arcade style driving games are a nice stress reliever sometimes

I've seen a figure-8 race of sorts at a local race track.  Was more
along the lines of a demolition derby though.  Called "train races",
they consisted of 3 cars welded together, with the driver in the front
car having steering and gas and the driver in the rear car having
steering and brakes, and the car in the middle was just empty.

Quite interesting to watch, especially the crack-ups  :-)

I don't get it - both front and rear drivers could steer?

Andre, take a beer now! :)

The front driver steers the vehicle in front, and the read driver
steers the vehicle in the back. Makes for some interesting conering
techniques i guess...

You are absolutely correct!   Midtown Madness was a fun
stress reliever, too bad none of the pedestrians could be
hit.  :)   A ***-head bouncing around the windshield...

I'be been playing too much Half-Life. <vbg>

That sounds awesome!  I'd love to watch something like that.
Weld 3 Pinto's together and watch the fireball erupt!  lol
