Ye gods... 13 CD's worth of repair guides for cars. How obscure can you get?

Being thoroughly entrenched in virtual racing I would never entertain the
thought of working on a real car(exactly what kept me out of real racing).
Not that I'm scared of getting my hands dirty, I just don't trust myself to
do a good job. I am trained to be an electronics engineer... I design and
repair/troubleshoot electronic circuits. Others are trained in the
automotive field. I trust them to design and maintain cars. I'm the kind of
guy who puts fuel in and turns the key. All other stuff I expect my
dealer/garage to take care of.

Hello,

For some complicated reasons (I am using AOL but not their newsservers) I
can't access the binaries newsgroup

Couls someone please upload these files to a FTP site so that people like me
can get them ?

I can store files like that on free access for everybody (once I have gotten
them) I have access to about 300 Mo of web space that I do not use for the
moment, if you want to use this for "newsgroup" storage let me know, it is
no problem at all...

Thx

As a follow up to the US version I just got this e-mail from the
us publishers/distro's about the cd version

Greetings!

Sorry, the CD for the At The LImit title was available in the UK only.
The only version released to the US market was the less expensive
version without the CD. We tried to purchase CD's seperately to
address this concern, but they were not available seperately. My only
advice would to be ordering the book from a UK source.

Thank you,

How about those that have this making them available on Napster?
(while there is still time).

Otherwise my server has limited postings on the other categories but
goes back over a week on alt.binaries.sounds.mp3 so if anyone would
be kind enough to post there.

But I really the way to do this is for those with cable or DSL to make
them available on Napster. I know I will, once I get them from
somewhere.

following

www.winmx.com
www.imesh.com
www.audiogalaxy.com

It seems that posting on newsgroups is a no go for a lot of us, so uploading
to an ftp site or web space going to be the best bet.
I'll put them up of my web site when I get the time, but since I'm going to
be busy taking MCSE exams in the next few weeks I doubt I'll have to time to
update my web site until sometime in mid to late March.

If you can't wait till then if someone gives me details their FTP site I
might be able to get them uploaded.

I only have a standard 56k modem so file sharing doesn't work for me , but
when someone with a decent permanent connection gets all the files then
we'll be laughing.

BTW has anyone actually managed to get all the files off
alt.binaries.simulators.autos ?

Another pleading request to make these files available via Napster!
So far only a couple have showed up:
"Into the Red - race car sounds 02.mp3"
"Into the Red -race car sounds-Maserati 250F 1957.mp3"
And there are only a couple of people providing those two.

If we can get all these files online than we can spread them qiuckly and
easily.  So please, those who have, share! Don't waste time with split
up binary files on clogged newsgroups.

I have most of them and have put them up on Napster NOW, I'm away

crashes or i get logged out etc.

I have put Maxx_* in front of them to make them all easier to find :

B*gg*r, they don't register, I had this prob before, it seems that
some mp3's don't get included in Napsters Library build. I'm using
what was the latest V 2 beta 9.6 but only the schu one is treated
as valid by Napster.

Sorry to dissapoint, I'm back on Wed evening and if anyone wants
them to put on an FTP site, drop me a mail (remove GPLs from
address)

Maxx

Thanks, but doesn't work. I tried d/l both the mp3s and the zip files
and each time what is actually d/l is a 5k file that while ending in
mp3 or .zip is actually an html page saying in effect "can't find that
page".
