Hi all,
I was mightily impressed with the article in SRN on aggressive BIOS
settings. As WinTune95 reported unusually slow memory writes, I
thought I'd give it a go. However .......
The settings screen I found bore little or no resemblance to the
parameters in the article. I wondered if anyone could help me
interpret these with a view to producing a sequence of trial changes
in order to improve performance.
I have a SiS PCI motherboard (Award BIOS) with on board videowhich
uses system RAM :-(. I have 16mb and the processor is a P120. Any help
would be much appreciated - the current settings are as shown below:
ISA Bus CLock Frequency :PCICLK/4
Asyn. SRAM Leadoff Time :R4 W4 ck
Asyn. SRAM Burst Time :2 ck
Sunc. SRAM Leadoff Time :3 ck
DRAM RAS to CAS Delay :4 ck
RAS Active when Refresh :5 ck
CAS Delay in Post-WR :1 ck
FP DRAM CAS Precharge :1 ck
FP DRAM RAS Precharge :4 ck
EDO CAS Pulse Width :R1 W2 ck
EDO CAS Precharge Time :1 ck
EDO MDLE Timing When RD :1 ck
EDO BRDY# Timing When Rd:1 ck
EDO RAS Precharge Time :4 ck
Regards.
