Super 1 Karting Problems

by Chris Help » Tue, 01 May 2001 02:18:18

Hi,

I just bought a copy of Super 1 Karting, to use for practise for RL karting,
and am having a some trouble with it:

1) The force feedback settings seem to have no effect whatsoever on my
Logitech FF wheel.
I tried selecting the Geric FFB Wheel, since they don't have a choice for
the Logitech, but every time I go back to the menu, the game has switched to
the MS Sidewinder. Changing all the settings for all the wheels to OFF had
absolutely no effect - still the same overdone FFB effects.

2) In trainer and practice modes, the engine power of the kart drops
steadily, until I am losing around 5 secs per lap. I've seen someone else
posting a message on the web to this effect.

And does anyone know of any S1K websites?

Thanks,
Chris

Oops, forgot to say I am running a very high-end system (Pentium 4, GeForce
2GTS) so my hardware performance is unlikely to be at fault in this
situation.

There's a patch for it which gives some pretty hairy FF effects - basically,
don't turn the FF up to over about 30% or you risk your monitor jumping off
the desk! (I lost 2 tea-cups like this...)
Hope that helps, I can't find a link for the patch, but I have it if you
want it (529kb)

Chirs, ake sure the "forces" are set, they are very weird to begin with,
real karts don't give that much shudder and bumping in a straight line.
Check ALL seetings, if still niot working it might be something else, let us
know.

Thats an easy one.
It is caused by two things.

1) You have engine wear/damage switched on so over a few laps/race the high
reving engines loose performance if not treated properly.

2) To treat them properly you must ***the engines correctly to keep them
running in top order, you are probably nto *** or are not doing it
enough/correctly.

Lets me know if you need any help  on this, if not just turn engine wear
off.

There is an option "Motor overheating" for this in the "Realism" menu. With
this option on, you must ***the engine to keep below 175 deg C (or is
that F?).

Anyone know if this game is fun driving online?
