I'm considering re-installing GPL now that 1.2 is out. It always intrigued
me.
One of the reasons I quit playing it is having to go in my SB Live's audio
hq, and adjusting down the treble and bass in order to get rid of the sound
distortion I was getting. This only happened to me in GPL. Does anyone know
of a permanent fix for this problem?

Try turning the sound down in GPL's options. I noticed it is very loud
compared to everything else on my rig. I have it at about 15% and it's right
there with all my other games.

Could be you're using up your headroom in the sound card.
