Either your GP1 needs attention, try spraying lubricant on the pots, or
you have one of the car failures selected in the drive options/car
realism menu? possibly engine or transmission or electrical problem?

If you have them selected turn them off and they will not occur again,
until you turn them back on again.

I use a Thrustmaster GP1 for ICR2 and GP2.

Every now and then a strange thing occurs and it is this...

Accelerating along a straight i suddenly lose power, ie the car is
stuck in high revs but does not change gear any further than 3rd. A bit
like the trouble Damon had in the Hungarian GP :-((

I have been using the wheel for around 3 months now, but not everyday.

Anyone have any ideas?  Could be one of the pots is defective i think

Are you manually changing gears or is the program automatically changing
them?
