I just picked up this game yesterday and I love it!  But I suck at it because I
can't figure out how to use my pedals on my Mad Catz Analog True steering wheel
(It's 2 years old but still gets the job done)  I have to use the buttons to
accelerate and brake, resulting in me spinning the tires excessively and
lifting off the throttle excessively.  Can someone help?  If you would need to
know for any reason, I have a Gateway P2 400 mhz, 64 mb RAM, Voodoo2 graphics
accelerator card.  I installed just the program files and the program graphics
I think.  Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

Well, tweak your setup for that, of course. It is essential in drag racing.
Real drag racers use their pedals mostly as an on/off switch also.

But there is a patch you should download for the game at the official game
site http://www.nhradragracingsim.com/ that will fix the pedal problem.

Thanks for the help Fran?ois.  I've been working on the setups.  They're OK.
Car stays in traction most of the time, but the start's a *** with full
throttle as my only option for going forward.  hehe.  Thanks a lot

You only want to use full throttle.  YOu need to set up the clutch
to slip, so that it won't smoke the tires.   Once you get it figured out,
you can run 4.40's at over 320 in just about any track conditions.

After reading this, I downloaded the patch and then tried this game out
again after putting it back "on the shelf" a few months ago. First off,
it did not seem to handle my TSW wheel with separate throttle and brake
axes, so I had to put the switch on the wheel back into two-axis mode.
This now works, but I think that in some ways it worked better for me
when I was using a button for the throttle. Mainly, there is less
reaction time in pressing a button vs. shoving down the pedal, plus I
think it gets you to 100% throttle more quickly. I only made a few runs
without doing any tuning, but my e.t.'s were suddenly about .6 seconds
of more slower than when I was running the 1.0 version of the sim.
However, according to the readme they made some changes to make the
dragsters a bit more difficult to do well in, so maybe my old tuning
setup is now out-of-date and I just need to start tweaking again.

No. I used to run an A/FD in ProComp in the midwest, but that was
probably back before a lot of people on this NG were born!
