I mean is this based off of the F1C 99-00, or GTR games. How much better is
it than the rest of these clones? Anything new or improved over the rest of
isi's sims?

Having F12001, F1C, GTR and GTL Demo and without any editing (so far) I
have no stuttering issues. For me, that's a major improvement,

Much better IMO. But after spending four hours or so
thrashing around in the "starter" vehicles I'm not
convinced it's the sim to lure me back to my wheel in a
serious manner. Great lighting, stunning sound,
pretty good AI (once tweaked). But... I think I need to
"cheat" my way into a more satisfying car before I make up
my mind.

Cheating is easy,  it's already being taught at RSC.  Leagues can send
out files that provide the drivers will all the cash you need to upgrade or
you can just whip out notepad.  Ridiculously easy to bypass.
I would think that most mods will forego the upgrade and just provide
fully tricked out cars.  But, you should be aware that online server code
checks for edits so you may want to have a safe default driver to prevent
any mis-matching errors.
   And..
There is already a real world track available.  A port of Lime Rock
Park by the RSR mod team.

   Again...rsc for details.

All you have to do is type ISI_BABYFACTORY in the chat screen and you have
all the money you need to upgrade. Do it for both series.

The F1 cars are awesome, and the fully upgraded Howston is nice too.

The AI in GTR was the best Ive seen to date.  95% Psychotic was a great
battle (better than most online races) and they dont wreck you without at
least trying to evade like RF..  GTL seems pretty good as well but I cant
really judge it completely till its out..

RFactors AI on the other hand is a stinking pile from what Ive seen in the
short time Ive run it....

Whats sad is that Im sitting thinking I should not have cleared my schedule
quite so fast.  Whats that say about this game when Id rather work than
fight the ***AI?

Just to be perverse, I took the FIS onto that tiny oval. What a complete
blast! There's huge mileage in a CART or IRL sim.

With the exception of the trick dx9 bits, I'm underwhelmed by graphics in
general. At least they don't glitch like GTR. I never bother with AI so
can't comment. The replay system is still hopeless. I still can't believe
there's no surround sound - I really miss that. Found a telemetry program at
RSC so that's looking better. For the first time ever, I find myself
convinced by an ISI low speed grip model (only tried OW so far). It's
looking good from my perspective but it'll need quality tracks real soon to
stay in my affections. I'm really after Open Wheel and the track selection
isn't that good at the moment. I'll try to get stuck into some multiplayer
over the weekend - that'll make or break it for me.

Regards

I find this to be really funny.
It happened to me for about 10 minutes, then I found the spot in the
menu interface that fixes it.

So now that you know the code, the game is going to read your mind and auto
unlock the cars whether you want it to or not??

The new gMotor game engine is more powerful than I thought. Sorry.

Well I'm weak willed, which is why I haven't read anything marked
'spoiler' regarding this issue

The problem is the default AI set has the F1s in it. If you select only
the trainers, no problem. It's not my default! :)
