Why all of you can interrest themselves in a 67' car sim ?
Do u find pleasant to drive a very ugly old car ?
I just try the demo and i didn't enjoy this game.
I am still waiting for the ultimate racing sim.......maybe one day......

UGLY!  Have you looked at that bug they call a Ferrari F199?  The
raised nose, narrow track F1 cars of today are some of the most ungainly
racers out there.  Sure they are as fast as stink, but they just don't
have the elegance of say the late 70's thru the 80's F1 cars.
The most Beautiful cars to my eye are the Le Mans cars of the
70's(Porche 917) or the Can Am cars when the McClarens and Chapparels
where king.
Even the 200mph Indy cars of a decade or so back look better than the
beak-nosed 240mph racers that are common in Cart racing today.

ps...keep an eye out for World Sports Car.  Possibly released this fall.

Better build a coffin in the meantime then. Ultimate racing sims don't
appear all that often, the last one I remember was late 1998...

Because the simulated cars are fantastic to drive, and the era was sooo
much more interesting than today.

Ugly is a *very* subjective term in this case :-)

Try the full version. You won't regret it if you have any interest at
all in simulations.

GPL isn't perfect by a long shot. I doubt anything will be. But GPL is
the closest we have to that (In my opinion and many others!) and you're
missing out on a lot my not trying it.

Of course it's subjective, but UGLY? Look at the Lotus 49 or the Ferrari.
They were smooth works of art, didn't look like lawn mowers with wings and
things bolted on and scoops over the drivers' heads. Of course, driving a
1300 pound car with 750 horsepower and no wings to increase down force was
(is) a challenge.

GPL Demo, true taster?

Some of us remember these cars and the heroes who drove them first hand.  We
remember when racing circuits were at their majestic best before they were
truncated into corporate and tv friendly venues and the ultimate challenge
they presented. It's actually a '98 car sim based on the '67 season <G>

Absolutely plesant and extremely satisfying to master a real "drivers"
challenge. Are you just another victim of the modern age throw away society?
Old doesn't mean past it. BTW. Many of us see these cars as objects of
beauty

The demo was bad and non representative of the final version. I doubt
somehow that you would appreciate the full sim as you appear to have some
pretty hard ingrained pre-conceived ideas about this era of racing in
general.

Ultimate by your own definition I guess. I hope you find what you are
looking for in the near future.

Ugly?  Just because they're old?  I think the 67 Lotus is a great looking car.
I just can't *drive* it worth a damn...  How new does a car have to be before
you DO like it?  By your criteria, you're discounting some great vehicles:
Bugati Royale, Phaeton, etc...

Many of us don't care about '67 at all! Best thing about '67 for me is it
was only two years until the moon landing :-)

Have you noticed how, if Surtees is ahead of you on the grid,
how he slows down to let you by at the start and then the next
you see of him is a rapidly expanding image in your mirrors as
you brake for Parabolica!

Sure you can download the demo, but it takes a long while to get
the hang of GPL.  Much , much longer than any other sim yet
released.  When you do start to master these cars it is an
incredibly satisfying feeling.

If you want the best racing sim yet (and possibly for a while
yet) then get GPL!

Your wheel will work just fine.

Chris

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  I think cars of that era are
very attractive - they look like race cars, not bill boards. To say nothing of
the wonderful tracks from that time.
