GPL rules but I need a new system....

Hell, I'm running an AMD Athlon 1 Ghz clocked to 1150 Mhz on a KT7A-RAID.
Very very stable.  Also, the latest drivers on the ATI site for the Radeon
make a huge difference in performance.  And the money over a GF2 is gonna go
into a new wheel.  <<Recomendations anyone?  Don't want to spend over 100
bucks and don't need Force Feedback again, too many cords>>

I've used Abit boards for 4 years now with no problems.  I plan on buying
another one next year.

Now I am confused as to what video card to get.  I'm not paying
$300-400 on a damn video card!  It was so easy when 3DFX was out and
popular :)

The GF2 MX is a fine card. And it IS the best price-performance you
can buy now. You can always replace it with a faster GF2 6 months from
now for a hundred bucks, or a GF3 a year from now in the same price
range.

GF3 is not still selling here in Japan too, just demonstrating.
Though, MSI's one had burned! nVIDIA is said inspecting and
tweaking to solve these problems now.
We must wait a bit more...

NO IT"S NOT!!!!!!!!!

When building a *** system, don't cripple the whole freakin' system with
a 'budget' garphics card.

How much are you spending on the CPU?  If you're building a *** machine,
then the "damn video card" is just as important.  Cut corners elsewhere if
money is a problem.  Get a 900MHz TB, and put the savings toward the video
card.  The extra 200MHz in CPU power is nothing compared to the difference
between the MX and the GTS2.

>NO IT"S NOT!!!!!!!!!

Re-read my post. It is not the best graphics card on the market, but
it does have the best price-performance.

It is a perfectly capable graphics card. To call a GF2 MX system
crippled is absurd.

Yes, its a capable system, but an MX board will become a bottleneck on a GHz
system.  The MX board doesn't even perform as well as my original GeForce
DDR board.  You can also forget about running anything at 12x10, 32-bit
color. The MX board's performance degrades quickly at higher resolutions and
color depth.

Would you put 64MB of RAM in this system?  How about a 200MB hard drive?

See that.
There's an ASUS 32MB  Geforce 2 GTS for $50 more
than a similar MX.

The MX has roughly half the power. Where's the bang for
your buck there?
