Yes I agree Steve but be careful "coz" if you pump-up the volume
too much it will be your "X-significant other".. Right?? Just funnin!
Cheers Thom_j.

YES.

It's a pain to drive, but if you learn how, it will be THE best SIM you have
EVER played.  As long as your hardware's up to snuff, the graphics are
stunning and fast; a good soundcard & speakers will make you feel like
you're really sitting in the***pit of a Ferrari with a V12 wailing at
10,000 RPM behind you; basically put, IT RULES! :D

LOL!!! Couldn't help laughing out loud when I read this. Luckily my GF
didn't hear me so I won't have to explain the joke.

Nah... don't buy it!  It will ruin your life.... i.e. late nights, neglect the
family, get no other work done, cause you to upgrade your PC in the quest for
more 'fps', and give you so much fun it will make you sick.  Be sensible, get a
lesser sim and keep your life!Dave Hawnt

I run a PII-300 and an 8MB Thriller and get the following results:

Online:  640x480
All graphics boxes checked except anti-aliasing,
spectral hilites, dynamic lighting, and skid marks.
Detail slider about 1/4 distance from the left.
Six sounds, if I remember correctly.
         36fps all the time.

Offline: 800x600
All graphics boxes checked except anti-aliasing.
Detail slider about 1/4-1/3 distance from the left.
         Six sounds.
         19 AI drivers.
24-32fps from the back of the grid depending on the track.
36fps 90% of the time everywhere else unless there is
a crash or something that stacks the AI up.

Smoke and dust do cause a bit of a slowdown in both modes.

It may very well be the very best simulator released....this includes
some terrific Flight sims....that just dont measure up to the
perfection of GPL.

GPL is seriously fun....seriously hard....and absolutely satisfying
beyond any other game I have tried on a computer.

Im sure it's actually a neurotic-testing *** between the NSA and
Papyrus...  Each time somebody makes an error on r.a.s. about those options,
his name is beeing added to a log file in Area 51.
