Has anyone found a receipe to make this combination work ? I am close, but
it is not working...

any advice appreciated...

Close.....but no cigar....

It basically won't work. It's a problem with the digital controller
attempting to talk to analog calibration routines written before there were
digital controllers. Check out NASCAR Racing 1999 ed. It has great support
for the MS FF wheel.

It does not have great support if you are doing N99 multiplayer, which uses
the DOS executable. The DOS version of N2/N99 just will not calibrate
properly with digital controllers. It appears to be a feature.
