Ok, so the game isn't the second coming of GPL.  But, check out these
features that nobody has yet mentioned:

Controls worked great out of the box.  Who needs split axis?  Who
needs buttons 5-10?   No having to turn down the brake sensitivity as
in F12K.

FF works pretty good.  We all were worried that would be missing.

The tracks seem accurate (I guess), and kerbs hit at the wrong angle
will really throw the car.

The armco makes a nice sound when you hit it.

Neat pictures of girls on the network screen.

BTW, I think it's funny with all the warez controversy going on, that
BH Motorsports already has their hotlap contest going strong, with the
usual suspects at the top.  Also, is it my imagination, or does it
seem like it has traction control for a few seconds when coming off a
standing start?  Kinda disconcerting, actually.

Hehe... This might be more real than Arrows would like to admit. A
little bit of "inside knowledge"   :-)

Controls don't work out of the box.  A sim. does need split axis support.
FFB is horrid (at least until I can figure out how to adjust it).

My top 3 complaints with GP3 so far.

Marc.

spoke:

My paddles use buttons 7 and 8. Brakes are way too sensitive on my
setup. Just touch the brakes and the wheels lockup.

<snip>

Even GPL had that mate. It takes a little while for the power to "build up"
to induce wheel spin I'd think.

You havn't been starting right in GPL then.

???????
Make a start in GPL, the best way to start is to floor it from the off, then
after a few seconds the wheels will begin to spin then you ease off or be
prepared to race the opposite way around the track. I can't see how this
happening in GP3 is different to it happening in any other sims or in real
life.

Marc, I was joking about the split axis support.  The controls worked
fine for me without any tweaking, meaning only that the throttle
didn't seem to be an on/off switch, and the brakes were pretty close
to what I see in GPL  (gasps all around with that comparison).  The
FFB worked fine after I played with it (turned it on and off a few
times, lowered the speed compensation thing).  This is with a cheepie
Interact V4 FFB, BTW.  Your mileage may (and in this ng will) vary.

You may be correct, but it doesnt feel right.  I can, with my limited
ability, neatly 180 a F12K car around pretty fast.  Much harder to do
with the throttle lag in GP3.  Same with coming off very low speed
hairpins.  Never noticed that in GPL, I simply spun off the track
instantly    :)

Just whack in the "clutch" a bit and build up the revs....you can 180 very
neatly in GP3.

When you are in 1st you can "slip the clutch" by holding the change-up
button....this gives you enough revs to spin her round....it is pretty easy
after the practice I have had (after my many many spins!) ;)
