Colin McRae and the Victory Celebration - what`s happening ?

by Jason Ki » Wed, 21 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Hi,

This is a small nag but after winning a Country, I am presented with
(very briefly) what looks like the start of a podium victory
celebration.

Unfortunately the game then skips this automatically as if I pressed
escape or something. Is there anyway to stop the game doing this ?

Has the victory celebration worked properly for anyone ?

thanks,
Jason

The full thing is that the third placed car drives up from a small
distance to the right hand side of the podium (as your looking at it),
the 2nd placed car does the same thing to the left, slightly more
forward than the other. Then the 1st place car drives in from quite a
distance and drives up to the top of the podium, you are then shown all
3 cars on the podium with the names displayed underneath, the program
waits for you to press a key.

Just a guess - but you have a steering wheel connected don't you?
Apparently this interferes with it.

Um... well I haven't actually earned a victory celebration but the 2nd
place one works sometimes for me.  It's not very exciting tho'.

Yeah I`m using a wheel. The menus also `jump around' a bit with the
wheel plugged in even though I`m not touching it and it`s calibrated
perfectly. Annoying as hell. Other than that CMR Rally is one of the
best driving games I`ve ever played.

Try turning off "poll with interrupts" in the joystick control panel
applet.
