In nascar 1 the engine sound [digital mode] is raspy and full of static
interference ....
How does the engine sound in Nascar 2 ?
Did they at least clear up the static ?

Their must be a setup problem or a problem with your soundcard because
on my system the original NASCAR digial engine sound is so realistic
you can feel it.  I've got a SB  AWE32 Pnp and two sets of Altec
lansings ACS-500's including two 40watt sub woofers and the whole room
shakes!!  So I was really looking foward to NASCAR2 - but what a
disappointment.  The sound quality is horrible and Sierra says that's
just the difference in the two games and theres nothing their going to
do about it.  Basically instead of a rumble you get a buzz.  I'm
running the same sound setup and I've gone over all my configurations
with Sierra just because I couldn't believe how horrible the sound is.
If you were bothered by the sound NASCAR produced don't even think
about getting NASCAR2 because it's really not even comparable.  To
answer your question there's MORE STATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
