Toca race driver Poll (hopefully Codemasters reads this)

Well after installing this great awaited demo "Race Driver" from(
CODEMASTERS )  I  was amazed at the lack of simulation and bad-bad-bad
handling!!!

So after playing for approx 4 minutes, i deleted the demo.

But now my craving needed a true racing simulated game,
that not only gave great handling, but a sence of speed and  the thrill of
enjoyment .
So i fired up mame and loaded Sprint!

  even that has better handling.
maybe even more code work on the steering too ;)

  To be honest Codemaster's!
Why not install gplegend's and feel what a car should handle like !
not this train on rail's Crap! - i thought ytou would have learnt from your
prior racing game's ! :(

Wow, that's bad!  Do I have to suffer through that jackass Ryan?
The steering is also set to 110% NON-linear too it seems.  Uninstall and
back to GTR 2002.

I hope the problem with the game is the controller code (everything seemed
to be either on or off, not in between) and not the physics, but I suspect
both.

Heres something comical to try if you dare go back and play the demo again.
Try keeping your accelerator foot flatly rooted to the floor, forget the car
ever had a brake.  Try to steer as little as possible (it seemed to me that
even slightly left or right equalled full on handbrake left or right so I
tried not to bother steering).  Now go round corners flat out and let the
tyres scrub some speed off.  I went alot faster using this method than using
the brakes.

There was absolutely no feeling back through the steering wheel on my car
like you get in other games like GTR2002.... I am very worried.  Problem is
that most magazine reviews don't look for things like physics when they
review.  The eye candy seems to be the important thing.  We'll have to wait
for some sucker to buy the game and posted his review here to find out
whether its worth buying.

Get your game sorted Codemasters.

PS. Doesn't bode well for the IRL game they're doing does it.

Toca race driver Poll (hopefully Codemasters reads this)

Just received a response from Codies regarding the sloppy wheel
suppoort on the PC demo. There will apparently be additional support
in the game for linear steering, so that should sort that problem out.
It was a bit difficult to see how the physics were 'changed' with the
SIM switch so we'll have to wait and see on that one. As for the
graphics, no probs on my rig. P4 3.06 GF4 4600 Win XP. Time will tell
if the game turns out to be fun or not although I'm no longer
expecting a 'sim'.

Maybe the multiplayer will be stable and fun.
