Ack!  Welcome to the newsgroup :)       The game, it's more of a religion,
is called "Grand Prix Legends".  It's made by Papyrus, is 4 old, but is
still the reference for modern simulations.

I suggest you try to buy it, or find it somewhere :)

Thanks, I am new.

Looks like I'd have to try to find a 3Dfx card too. :(

There is a DirectX D3D rasterizer...   (at papy's)

No need for that!  With the years, not only has the community updated
gratefully GPL, but several people at Papyrus worked for free to update GPL
to the "modern *** time".  Which means is, while originally the game only
offered 3dfx and Rendition rasterisers, there are now OpenGL and Direct3D
rasterisers for GPL.

The Direct3D one is used by the vast majority of GPL drivers.

Check out papy.com like Remco said, you'll find the basic patches for it if
you ever buy it.  But hey you had interest in racing simulations to *post*
on this newsgroup, which means you would probably like GPL! :)

Thanks for all the information! I'll look that up. I mostly just
want to drive the Nurburgring, and since I won't be able to do it
for real for a while, a simulation will have to do.
