NASCAR Muliplayer problem

by Dan Drur » Tue, 01 Aug 1995 04:00:00

My brother and I are having trouble setting up a multiplayer
session of NASCAR.  After the modems connect, we get the following
message "Waiting for Remote".  I can't find a definition of this
message anywhere in the manual.  Does anyone know what this
means and how to fix it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Dan

I had the same problem for a while.  The only solution was to switch
dialers (ie. I called him instead of vice-versa).  Perhaps it is due to a
problem with his init. string, b/c it worked fine for us when I called
his modem.

Essentially, someone doesn't have the correct modem configuration.  First
make sure you're both using the same version of Papyrus Nascar (ie., 1.2,
1.2.1).  Next recheck that you're both connecting at the same baud rate.
This assumes you've chosen the correct modem from the list or edited a
custom modem in the modem.cfg file.  Finally, recheck the init, prefix,
suffix strings.  If none of these work you may want to call your modem
manufacturer.
