Anyone heard anything about the Infogrames title coming out
based on the Hooters Pro Cup Series? There some info on the
'Net but I was wondering if this is going to be more of a sim or
an arcade title or if there was further information out there.

The IRL has a game coming out. I wonder what that will be like.

Two things really concern me about this 'announcement', the site is hosted
on geocities. How good is a game coming from someone whose PR's are on 'free
sites'?

The other is the quality. Tied to the first concern really, but after racing
from N1-NR2002 from Papyrus, and GPL, I would really be worried how much
time went into developing the physics engine and the graphics for that
matter. All 23 tracks? Exact dimensions and graphics from all 23? I doubt it
if their budget only allows a website on geocities...

Love the idea, hope I wrong about what it will be like.

This is the Infogrames press release, where I originally saw it.

I love driving short tracks and watch these guys on the TV, hope it'll
be worth getting.

Believe me Admin, I had the very same thoughts.

Isn't Infrogames the ones that bought up Hasbro? If so maybe they got their
hands on the code for NASCAR Heat. Now I have no idea if this happened and I
doubt it did, but it sounds good.

Sure NASCAR Heat is not up to NR2002 in the physics department, but its not
bad. Being a short track fan myself I'd be more than happy with that level
of gameplay. Although I do hope they ad yellows to online racing.

I don't have the link, but there was a post awhile back (no more than a
month) that showed what was supposed to be an image from the game. If that
was true, well this is going to be a badly done arcade game. The wheels on
the model, while round, had no depth, being flat. The car shape of the model
shown was even more bulbous and generic than N4 models. It looked like a
cheap knock-off of the N4 model. I know it is impossible to judge a game by
one image of a model, WSC has some of the best looking 3D models I have ever
seen and that game appears further away from reality than the Hooters game,
but I am not expecting much from this game.
I will buy it, to support the series and the concept of sims designed for
series OTHER than Winston Cup, but I don;t expect this game to set the sim
world on fire.

For some reason I doubt it uses the code from Heat.  Heat was developed by
Monster Games Inc. (MGI), this is being developed by Hoplite Research, LLC.
