I run the exact same machine at home and at work (HP PPro 200, Matrox,
64MB).  The one at home runs 95, the one at work NT 4.0.  NT is noticeably
faster in everything from screen updates to CPU and disk-intensive
activities like compiling code.  I only use 95 at home because I've got a
bunch of MIDI software that really doesn't like NT, and because the company
I work for ships software for both platforms.

REPLY:

There's a sound issue that in the MMX which almst eveybody never
mentions. From what Epic has stated there will be a very big a
noticeable advancment in the quality of sound. Just something else to
ponder.

I just got done putting mine together and it works well...

Pentium 200 / 512 Cache / Intel VX PCI bus / 32Mb RAM
Adaptec 2940 PCI SCSI controller with a 2Gb Baracuda drive
Intergraph Reactor PCI video card
Thrustmaster T2 wheel
100W stereo speakers attached to a 16 bit sound card

and... my helmet   :)  Can't forget that...  LOL
