T1 at the real Nurburgring sure looks like it opens up a hell of a lot wider
than it does in this pic from F12002.

apparently not wide enough for DC & JPM!

I agree.

Additionally, the real track has a massive camber change at the apex and
also appears to have a slight downward grade towards the next corner,
whereas in F12002 there is an upward grade to the same corner.

The tracks really are disappointing in F12002 for the most part IMO.
Hopefully the track editing gurus will be able to work these things out over
time.

As an aside... is that a real PC screenshot?  The graphics are pretty
nice... almost too nice like those on the back of a game box.

Yes, that's from my PC. That's with a GF2Ti and at only 800 x 600. Looks
even better at higher res, and I'm sure a GF4 would add a little bit to it
as well. I just added some more screenshots for you.

Are you implying that F12001 has inaccurate tracks?!?

Heretic.

says...

Yeah,

Up until yesterday, I never really understood what all the complaints
about track accuracy were for, I never noticed anything way off......

Then after I watched the GP, I played F1 2002 on the Nurburgring, and
boy, that first turn is MILES different!
Like you said, no camber in the game, its just totally flat!

Hey there!, it looks cartoony, thats what the mags say lol ;D

I Agree, i cant see anyone thinking that GP4 looks better. Some screens may
look
good but in game. Yikes. the terrible lightning on cars, the mirrors on
them. the terrible lods that converts the F1 car infrotn of you to a 4sided
block.. yikes.

The real thing looks very wrong to me too. I mean, the track only used to
have one Mickey Mouse bit (last chicane). What's up with this kart section
they added?

I thought it was a bad idea at first too, but then I heard some of the
drivers say they like it.

Dave
Is this not down to the fact that F1 2002 doesn't model any of the track
changes for 2002?  T1 at the Ring was changed quite dramatically for the
2002 race. None of the changes at Montreal were implemented either.

They have the layout correct for the 2002 'Ring, but the width , camber and
elevation is wrong. The incorrect width was what surprised me most.
