OT: Switching Soundcards

I'm going to make the switch from the SBLive to a Turtle Beach Santa
Cruz this weekend (because of sound problems with GPL).  Does anyone
have good instructions for completely removing all remnants of the
Creative sound drivers under Windows XP?  Also, Does anyone have any
tips/websites for the installation and use of the Santa Cruz card?

Thanks!

GPL will get better framerate with onboard sound if you have a newer
revision motherboard like the nforce2 with mcp2-t chipset with same or
better sound quality compared to the santacruz.  Anyway, be sure you use the
latest beta santacruz drivers on their website, I suspect the final will be
out within a month.

Unfortunately, my mobo is not one of the newer models.... (Epox 8Kha+)

Can't totally agree Roger. When I got my NF7S board I dumped my Audigy for a
while and used the onboard nforce2 MCP2-T sound.  The quality of sound -
even though it was 5.1 - just wasn't there, and I put back my Audigy!  Been
a happy bunny since.

The Santa Cruz is no problem.  Just get the latest RELEASE drivers from
their web site.

Removing the Creative stuff could indeed be a challange.  Depending on the
options, the old Live series could install up to eight MEGABYTES worth of
entries in your registry from what I read.

There should be a clean-removal faq out there _somewhere_.

Try google.  Google is your friend :)
