Jone.
What you need is something like a Hoontech daughter card .
Go to www.hoontech.com and look for the DB11 or DB111 cards.

depends how old the soundblaste live! value is. the early versions lacked the
digital out but the ones you get now (CT4830) have the yellow digital out.
its a mini plug so you need to buy new cable. but they're easy to find at
radioshack or similar.
and be carefull. the live! digital out is 5v. the digital spdif standard is
0.5v. so if you're receiver/speakers aren't build 'above' standard they could
get fried, but i've never heard of this happening.
but if digial out is all you need, sb live! value for $30 is hard to go past.
i've got it hooked up to a yamaha DD receiver and it sounds fantastic :) but
the 'dolby' part only works with dvd;s. but the rest of the time it still
sounds good :)

Thanks for the info, all. I think I'll buy an Audigy if I can afford it, or
a Live 5.1 if I can't - Hell no! I'll prolly buy an Audigy even if I can't
afford it ;-)
Cheers...

Full digital features, including support for Dolby Digital 5.1, and it's
only $79.
Not only that, but the card and it's drivers actually work, and it's very
stable under Win2K/XP.
Creative, well, that's a different story. I've given up on all products
Creative, not just their pain-in-the-ass SBLive cards.
