MGPRS2, am I really bad?

MGPRS2, am I really bad?

Maybe a stupid question, but is it possible to do a quick lap without the
sliding sound in every corner?
Its like driving in GPL (not really, but almost).
I have just had this game a few days so maybe it is me how are bad.
I can drive Silverstone in 1 27 but then its a terrible sliding through
many curves.

I have the same problem. I can't get within about 7-8 secs of the lap record

I have only had it 1 week but I think it's a ***game. GP2 is much better

It doesn't feel right. Like I'm driving a hovercraft

Maybe Ubisoft should do a hovercraft racing sim

MGPRS2 is not a ***game, it just seems like sour grapes to me as you can't
seem to do very well in it! I mean, 7-8 secs ... you need some serious
practice my friend.

I agree Iain, it's a fantastic game with awesome graphics. This game is an
improvement over F1RS. It's funny that the included editors since they
couldn't get the F1 license.

Rod,
It's not that they couldn't get the F1 licence, it's just that they weren't
prepared to pay the extortionate amount that Bernie was asking!

I didn't know that, Interesting. No doubt, it takes a lot of "Pounds"....err
"Euros" for that license. It's pretty amusing that in the License Agreement
they mentioned not altering the game like F1RS..i.e. teams, use of logos
etc., then they provide us with editors. I kind of laughed when I saw that.

Iain i'm having a problem with sound cutting out. Are you having sound
problems?

Thanks,

-Rod

Oh, please, if MGPR is a hovercraft sim, than Crammond should do a
steam train sim next... ;^)

Rod,
What sound card are you using? I have terrible sound problems with F1RS and the
demo for MGPRS2 using an ensoniq PCI card. The sound always cuts out after 3 to
5 laps into a session.

Maybe I'm probably just blowing off a bit of frustration but I now have GPL
and I'm pretty bad with that too but I love it

I will go back to MGPRS one day but for now I can't wait for GP3

I'm using the Creative Labs PCI 128 sound card. It has the latest drivers. I
now know when the problem happens. If I switch to external views the sound
cuts out. If I stay with the in car view the sound never cuts out.

Thanks,

I haven't tried GPL yet. I've heard both good and bad. I'll probably get it
pretty soon. My problem is the ERA of the game 60's cars. You know i've been
reading a lot of post regarding the different current F1 games. It's amazing
to me how some find fault with some games and others will find fault with
another.

I know GP2 was pretty good for it's time. It did some things pretty good and
it did some things not so good. I've found in life there never will be the
perfect game, automobile etc..

I agree with you Ronald. One mans game is another mans sim. I think MGPR2 is
quite enjoyable, with great graphics and I only paid $19.95US. I liked F1RS
and MGPR2 is an improvement over the first. I remember the reviews of the
first game. How F1RS was the new F1Racing King, and move over GP2. That;s
why I bought the game. Sure it wasn't perfect but it was fun. One of the
nice things about the game is how can bring it up to date.

MGPRS2, am I really bad?

by Graeme Nas » Thu, 07 Jan 1999 04:00:00

True. I've tried F1RS and MGPRS2 and I -still- think GP2 is the best.
It's interesting to note on the GPL box that there is a quote which goes
"The finest racing sim since GP2" or somesuch. I guess Papy never rated
F1RS either!

Cheers!
