In between the GPL sessions it is fun with something else so I do a little
sportscar-racing with SCGT which is quite good.
I
t is nice to download some of the many new cars from the web but when I have
downloaded a Toyota or Ferrari it is sad to leave the pit in such a car with
a Porsche-dashboard. Ive installed the 1.551 patch and the alldash-fix but
that just fixes the inside and hud of the original cars. Why cant the
add-on-cars come with inside as well as outside. Big problem there?

Is this something that SP3 has. Though I will never try to download that
filesize over my 56k-line.

no SP3 does not address this issue.  However...There are PLENTY of
dashes available.  I just grabbed a Viper dash with red fenders and
white stripes to match the two Chrysler Viper GTS' that run in the
American LeMans Series.  The only problem is you have to manual insert
them.
Have a backup folder inside the mas folder.  Download any dashes you
want to try. McClaren, Ferrari, it doesn't matter, there are tons of
them.  Back up the original file dash.mas which is in the mas folder.
copy your new dash from the backup folder to the mas folder and then
rename it dash.mas(if you still have the original dash.mas in the folder
still that might cause a naming conflict){change the original to
dash.bku or something like that]
start SCGT, make sure you have the dash chosen in the menu files and
you are off to the races.  ONe note.  Many dashes only work at certain
resoulutions...make sure you read and understand the readme files that
are included.  That viper dash works in low rez but if I choose 1024x480
then it crashes the whole program.

Per,

I did that download with a 56k Modem. I simply did it over 3 nights
while reading this newsgroup and my usual racing sites.  The 3.0 service
pack is well worth the effort.
