SCGT...Really cool Sim !

Just bought SCGT today...Damn, its the first sim I buy that I can actually
enjoy after just a couple of laps.
A lot less frustrating than Viper Racing and I don't even need any driving
aids.
Way cool !

Was wondering...is there a way in career mode to reduce the duration of the
race ?
20 minutes race seems a bit long for me.

I wish I could set the number of laps like in single race mode. :(

I noticed also the image quality is much more sharp in D3D than it is in
Glide and smoother too.
I have a V3-3000 and the game is choppy in Glide at 1024X768 but damn fine
in D3D.

Pardon my ignorance but I'm still not clear on D3D. I've got a Voodoo 2 12
MEG and a Riva TNT 16 MEG. Do they both do D3D or only the TNT? And if the
Voodoo 2 does D3D how do y ou force it to do so? One more question. Then how
do you tell the game which card to use?

both cards in your system support direct3d.  only your voodoo card supports glide.  most
(new) games allow you to select which card is used for direct3d acceleration.

if the game doesn't give you the option, there's a small utility you run in the background to
tell the software which card to use.  i believe you can find it at voodooextreme.com .

They both do D3D.  You should be able to select which device you use in the
game's Graphics Options.

I too have a v3-3000 and play the game in d3d. If I'm not mistaken, the
glide mode runs like a software rendered mode. Wanna bet that the game
does not recognize the v3?

Some games will allow you to choose which D3D card to use...an both yours
support it. Some dumb games assume you want to use your primary display adapter
for D3D and you have to hack into the .ini or.cfg file to change it.

So which option should be the better?
When I start the game I get 3 options:-
1)Software
2)D3D
3)3DFX

I currently have a Voodoo Banshee card and although SCGT runs fine using the
3DFX option when I exit the game it locks up my system. Using the D3D option
there are no such problems. Which of these options should provide the better
frame rate?

Cheers

I get quite a few problems with Glide on my Banshee and so for many games
simply use D3D! However, Glide (3dfx mode) *SHOULD* give better frame rates,
anyway I don't think that MS have got around to certifying the Banshee
DirectX drivers

P.S. Delta force uses the Voxel3 engine

Pardon the off-topic part of this message, but can you play delta Force in
3dFX or d3d with the Banshee. I used the Iffy  Warez version (don't wory, i
got rid of it) and i could only use software!
