I have. There's an amazing array of options. Including a rear wing, five
point harness, braided lines, drinks bottle. But no mention of FF? But
it cannot be that hard to bolt an after market FF wheel to the 'beast'.

Stupid question... but here I go.. is the F1 wheel the almost round one or
the bow tie looking one?  Also, anyone have a picture of the inside of the
wheel components?  Are they metal like a TSW?

Any comments you have would be appreciated.

Gerry,

I guess you didn't check out the Hyper Forum on the web site because the
answer is there under the Suggestions Section.

David,

The round or bow tie style wheel question is answered in the FAQ (Frequently
Asked Questions) section of the www.hyperstimcanada.com web site.  The Hyper
steering wheel and pedal set inners are metal components other than the
potentiometers and some neoprene type components.  I don't have an inside
picture of the Steering Box.

As a long-time (6 years) Hyper owner, I have never felt the lack of
FFB.  I also think it's significant that no one in the high-quality
steering wheel market, such as Thomas and Ball Racing as well as
Hyper, offers FFB.

Basically, I think to make FFB to the same standard of durability that
this type of gear has is just too expensive.  These systems are
expensive now, imagine the price with FFB!  To attest to the
durability, try and find someone else still using the same controller
they used with Indycar Racing.

:::raises hand:::
Actually, I'd have to check when I got my TSW.  I've had it for a few years,
but don't remember the exact time I bought it.

I rest my case, Eldred.  Another controller from a manufacturer that
doesn't offer FFB.

Hmmm, yes and then refers to an "article", which is from an interview at E3
in the year 2000!!!!
This is 2002, what's going on there Rory.... no change for 2 YEARS....

Edward,

If you read the article carefully and completely; you will read that what
needs to be changed to make FF work properly hasn't been changed yet
therefore it is still valid today.  Afterall there still is no simulation
software as good as GPL and look how old that is.

Rory,

I did, this time as well as when it first came out in 2000

But surely you could update it, even if it was to say that FFB is still not
at the stage where Hyperstim would implement it, especially so if you are
going to have a poll about it. I just found it odd that you would have a
poll in 2002 and make coy comments in the NG that there was something
happening with regard to this. Your comments here lead me to believe that
something was up with FFB and Hyperstim, until I read the old article. Not
bashing you or Hyperstim (yes I have tried one) as I said I just found it
odd.
