ICR2 - Questions

by Gary Robert Youn » Thu, 24 Jun 1999 04:00:00

I have recently re-installed ICR2 on my PC and have the following
questions for you ICR boyz.

Is there still a patch available. I remember downloading this way back
in 96 but cannot seem to find it anymore.

I have also downloaded a couple of carsets to bring the game a little
more upto date. I have followed the instructions contained within the
attached readme files but still cannot get them to load. One set is made
by a guy called Earl Ma (his is the 98 set) Another set is by Jeff
Schueler.

So if any of those guys read this newsgroup please mail me on how to
load those carsets. Thanks in advance.

Thats all for now.

Keep on revving

I've got the 1.00 ->1.02 patch and the 1.01 -> 1.02.  Can't remember how to
tell which version you've got, but if you can't find the patches anywhere
I'll email them to you (I'll be surprised if they're not on www.sierra.com).
I won't be able to do this for a few days until I get my home pc sorted out -
I use work's for this stuff right now, but if you email me on

As far as the carsets go, there should be 2 files for each one - a .dat file
and a drivers2.txt.  To install the carset, note the name of the .dat file
(say, fedex99.dat) and create a directory in your ICR2\CARS directory with
the same name (ICR2\CARS\FEDEX99).  Extract both files into the directory
and go play!

The patches are still available at Sierra's website go to
http://www.sierra.com/support/technical/updates/main.html
and do a search for CART Racing (they renamed ICR2).

Thanks to all you guys who replied with answers to the ICR2 patch and
carset problems. You have all been very helpful once again.

All is now okay and the patch has been installed and am racing like the
lunatic I once was.

Thanks again
