I lost my game controler in Windows

My Logitech Wingman FF stopped working tonight and I've found that it is not
in the Game controlers menu anymore. (Control panel / Game controlers)  And
I cannot put it back ; I clik on the add button, find the correct controler,
but it does'nt stay, the game controler screen still void of any controlers.

Can anyone help.  At the moment, I'm not able to beat the "sh.." out of you
folks online  =;-D

Are you sure the wheel is plugged in? Have you been adding/deleting
joysticks? Try going to the Advanced tab and select one of the ID's
and add the logitech wheel. Also try re-installing the 3.2 beta logitech
software.

Yes

Yes.  I baught a Logitech Wing Man FF.  It worked for a week but stopped
yesterday.

I've done that but this does'nt work either.  It stays at "none".

I've even tried re-installing my old Thrustmaster T2 and I'm encountering
the same problem in "Control Panel / Game controlers".  Neither the
Thrustmaster nor the Logitech will show up.

Do you have a PDPI L4?
Is the gameport driver set to something other than empty?

Make sure you have the proper Port Driver selected in the Advanced tab
in the Game Controllers applet.

Go to the Advanced tab and make sure the device you want connected is
the one in the #1 slot.

I wonder if your joy.cpl file is somehow corrupted (this is the Control
Panel file for the Game Controllers applet in your Windows\System
folder).

I have my Logitech USB connected and saying OK and have the
"Standard Gameport" selected.

My Logitech can be connected to any ID and will work in any real
W98 game (F1RS and the pre-patch SCGT) just fine. However
you need to put it on ID#1 for the patched SCGT and is you want
the USB wheel to work in a W98 DOS box.

Could be. Maybe he should try reinstalling his joystick port driver.
Also if he is using the Logitech with a serial port it may be worth
re-installing all of his COM ports. If it is a USB connection, maybe
there is something wrong with his W98 USB drivers? At this point
I guess I would have to actually see his computer to really be helpful.

Thank you all for your help.  I have since gone through the process of
reformating my hard disk and its all OK.  I guess that, as you said, one
file got corrupted.

I think I'll try connecting my USB Logitech FF and use the old T2 pedals.

See ya and thanks again.
