Microsoft Steering Wheel?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had experience of the new Force Feedback
Steering Wheel from Microsoft as I was planning to pick one up today.

Cheers,

Mike.

Allot of people like it. However I have not read one definitive
post explaining that you could still run your DOS games like
(Nascar2 and ICR2 for example). It is my #2 choice. I am going
to stick it out and try the Actlabs ForceRS. It comes with a 30
day  money back  guarantee. So if that one is ***I'll give the
MS FF wheel a shot. My 3rd choice is TM, and I would really
hesitate to get one of these. I guess I have replaced too many
T2 pedal springs for my liking...

Just get the wheel form somewhere you can return it. And then
please try Nascar2 if you have the game :-)

The Actlabs ForceRS must be plug on serial port . not on joy port , ure dos

games won't works !
My Microsoft FF Wheel works fine with Soda Off Road Racing ( not in FF mode
)
wich use is own joy drivers ( like dos games ).
nb. The MS FF Wheel must be plug in joy port only ( using midi port through
joy port for FF mode ).

Hope i help you,

Okay, well from what I understood of that, you said that the ACT Labs wheel
won't work in DOS because it has to be plugged into a serial port not a
joystick port. This is absolutely wrong. True, it has to have a serial
connection, but it must also be attached to your joystick port. The MS FF will
NOT work in DOS (however some games will work in a dos box) but the ACT Labs
wheel(s) WILL definitely work in DOS. Just pointing that out in case anyone was
looking at an ACT Labs wheel...

Their www site (www.actlab.com) claims the ForceRS is DOS compatable.
In fact that is the first question I asked "Brian" (who claimed to read this
NG btw). I can still return it though...

Ah ha! So that is how they do it. (I am assuming you know what you
are talking about :-) But can you still have the wheel auto center for
non FF games like the MS FF wheel does?

Also, I'm sure the Force RS has been tested with a Joyswitch right?
If not, it is about to be tested :-)

I run the game in a dos box, I have to since I race on TEN. If you were able
to do it please tell me how, I don't know anyone else who has been able to
use the wheel well in NASCAR2.

According to the box, the wheel should be a normal wheel then.
I imagine that would be 2 axis-2button.
