Saw this tonight and it was spectacular. Pity Gurney didn't finish he had the race well in hand. They certainly took a lot
of air in sports that just amazed me. wish I had been fast thinking enough to tape it.

I saw it; taped it ;) On looking at the tape and pausing it on the
head-on shots of Clark's and Hill's Loti, after they had retired, it is
clear that the steering wheel in each Lotus was offset. Also, at
Flugplatz (marked by a sign at the track) there was a lot of flying; one
of which looked exactly like the Legends box. I hope they show the other
'67 races.. Speedvision is advertising that the movie "Grand Prix" will
be shown (in the US) on February 20. No time as yet.

Don't miss this if you have access. Great racing footage. You'll be amazed
at all the things you recognize at the tracks and by how well the tracks are
reproduced in GPL. Monaco is particularly amazing, even down to the level of
detail like where sidewalks on the trackside begin and end. I believe the
movie was shot at the 1966 races.

I bought Grand Prix online 2 wks ago from www.reel.com...cost about $20
(not including shipping...I went overnight for about $10) and came on
2 tapes...3 hours...excellent quality, not some cheap 1 tape job recorded
on slow speed.  I've watched it twice since then and have added 2 of
the drivers into my latest carset (Scott Stoddard in a BRM and Jean
Pierre Sarti in a Ferrari :)  Can't say enough good things about this
movie...the racing footage is intense!  My wife thought I was nuts yelling
things like...I know that turn!...I've seen that building!  I crashed into
that overpass! :)

Especially "crashed into that overpass" (for me anyway.)

But its true.  I recorded the movie off of TCM a while back during their 30
days of Oscar thing (Grand Prix did get one for sound & soundtrack).  I can
remember so many things from GPL that are in that movie (and vise versa).  The
lap from the nose cam at Monaco really helped me too.  I managed a sub 1:35
right after i watched that portion for like the millionth time.

Spa is another one i recognized.  Especially the pedstrian bridge right at
Brunmville.  If you havent seen it do so asap.  As far as the Legend of
Motorsport...ill have to get my friend  to tape it for me (damn cable company
cant get their priorties straight).

I tried to do the same. My wife wound up buying it for me for Christmas from
www.blockbuster.com for ~US$22, I think.

Great buy! You'll love it. I watch the race footage so often she's now left
me for another man,.. well, boy actually,...I think it was Graeme Nash.

Grand Prix movie

blockbuster has it -- go to www.blockbuster.com and get the 800 number to
call.  they will check on the status of it at your local stores for you.
that's how i tracked it down -- about $3 for 5 day rental.

The Rogers Video shop at 8th &  McBride in New Westminster BC has it..
It's a 3hr/2 tape digitally re-mastered version and rents for $3.95 for
7days.
I just brought it back after 2 weeks rental, so it should be there. Does
this help?

Why rent it,when you can own it!!

It has been on tv so many times, that you can easily record it,just
take out all those crummy commercials.
