ICR: Fuel usage

What tactics do you use in ICR with fuel economy (100% races)?  I
usually (=always) take full 40 gallons on all but last pit stop and I
generally use turbo setting 6.  Computer cars seem to use similar
tactics in ovals, although it looks like they take 35 gallons or use
higher boost in Michigan.

BTW: Computer drivers do crash sometimes without my assistance.  I have
a replay where AI-Nigel Mansell (1994 car set) loses it in Michigan: Alone
in the turn 3-4, heavy oversteering, lots of smoke and airborne right
side wheels;-)

Basically, I use boost 9 and that usually gets me far enough into the lead to
do ONE more pit-stop than the computer opponets (I'm talk 100% opponets/race)
so I don't really care about fuel-effeciency.  Usually I have to worry about
my tires blowing before I have to worry about running out of gas.  :)

WOW!  Didn't know that they could actually get airborne in IndyCar.  Never
seen it myself, unless you mean the tires popped off and were flying.

To me, it seems that the cars which most often crash by themselves are the
Penskes.  I've had Emerson Fittipaldi lose it coming out of turn one in
Toronto (which is a real easy turn to come out of) and Paul Tracy lose it in
Australia on a real easy full throtle turn.

It's great, I love seeing a yellow flag pop up when I had nothing to do with
it.  And automatically, I hit ESC and check out the replay.  :)
